The monitoring of water consumption in the Basque Country is promoted by the Basque Water Agency, through the management of Water Charges, dedicated to the protection, reparation and improvement of the aquatic environment, collaboration with the competent administrations in order to achieve efficient supply and purification services, and obtain inter-regional solidarity. The objective of the Statistics on water consumption is measure the consumption of natural water resources in the Basque country, by means of quantifying and characterising the volume of water consumed within the Basque Country, differentiating between the different uses, as well as the different types of water supply.
