Collection of data from water supply entities and users of exploitations of collected water originating from superficial, subterranean, pluvial or runoff, marine or any other sources.

Objectives

Measure the consumption of natural water resources.

Quantify and characterise the volume of water consumed within the Basque Country, differentiating between the different uses, as well as the different types of water supply.

Main variables to be studied

The main variables are the volume of water diverted, differentiating between the urban water supply and own water supply sources.

The different uses of water consumption will also be calculated: Domestic water use, industrial use, commercial use, public use, other uses, agricultural use, the volume associated with losses, the volume of own consumption and the volume supplied for free.

Scope

Population:
The population referred to is that of the Autonomous Region of the Basque Country. The Autonomous Region is always the central subject/object of the study.
Geographical:
The geographical coverage to which this statistical operation is circumscribed coincides with the administrative area of the Autonomous Region of the Basque Country.
Timeframe:
The evaluation period is one calendar year.
