The List of Non-Hazardous Waste of the Basque Country is prepared using three basic variables: type of waste, source of the waste and type of waste management. This provides an overview of the main non-hazardous waste flows generated in the Basque Country and in its provinces and the type of treatment that they receive. Based on current knowledge of waste generation and management, sustainability "measures" and "policies" can be established and focused on compliance of the targets and undertakings regarding reducing the waste generated, increasing recycling and recovery, and zero dumping without treatment.
