The operation, known as the Economic Survey on the Hotel and Catering Sector (EESH) provides economic information for the calculation of the main sector macro-figures, and is used as the auxiliary basis for the production of the Input – Output Tables and the Economic accounts of the Basque Country. The economic information is provided by the establishments whose main activity, measured in terms of value added generated, is Hotel and Catering, according to the National Classification of Economic Activities, even though their main office or headquarters is situated outside the Community.
