Objectives

• To learn about the economic structure of the Hotel & Catering sector in the A.C. of Euskadi and each Province.
• To cover the information required in order to prepare the Annual Economic Accounts and Input - Output Tables, where global data is updated annually on the main macro figures for the sector.

Population:

The target population of the study consists of those establishments whose main activity, according to the CNAE-93, is division 55.

Geographic area

The survey extends to those statistical units located in the geographical area of the Basque Country, even though their headquarters is situated outside the Community.

Timeframe:

The reference period for the survey is the year before that in which the information is collected.

Sampling

A probabilistic sampling is carried out in two phases:

1. Single stage sampling, in which the statistical units are selected with probability one based on the size of the business.

2. Random stratified sampling by optimum allocation.

A sample with a total of 1,000 statistical units is obtained.

There is no specific publication for the sector. It is disseminated through the volume of basic information of the Input-Output Tables of the A.C. of Euskadi.
