The Large Stores and Food Chains Trade Index (IGSC) operation provides a short-term indicator on market developments in sales and employed personnel in the commercial sector in large stores and food chains in the Basque Country. A large store is defined as any commercial establishment that has a sales area greater than or equal to 2500 square metres. A food chain is defined as a company with at least three premises, including any large stores it may have, and more than 100 employees. This information shall be disseminated at provincial level from 2015.
