The Service Sector Index (ICS) operation offers a combination of short-term indicators of the evolution of sales and employed personnel in the services sector of the Basque Country, both in nominal and real terms. It is calculated for the Trade and Services and by subsectors, following the National Classification of Economic Activities (CNAE-2009), for the Basque Country and by province.

The indexes corrected for calendar effects (number of working days and holidays) offers values comparable on a year-on-year basis, whilst for quarter-on-quarter comparisons the deseasonalised indixes are used (the effect of periodic fluctuations less than a year is corrected).
