The study of the demographic phenomena Deaths, Marriages, Fertility and Migrations requires a series of indicators and synthetic indices and this is the objective of the annual statistical operation Demographic indicators. The Synthetic Fertility Index, according to the average maternity age, the Synthetic Marriage Index, according to the average age for matrimony, or life expectancy at birth are a product of this statistical synthesis operation, and is published by sex and province in the Basque Country.
