Awareness and quantification of the population and families resident in the Basque Country requires diverse statistical sources. On the one hand, recounts of the population and families have been conducted every ten years through the Population and Housing Census, as well as the Population and Housing Statistics (EPV) in the inter-census period. On the other, through the Municipal inhabitants statistics and using the administrative registers of the Municipal Register of Inhabitants as the main sources to keep the demographical municipal information up to date.
