OTHER MARKET SERVICES INDEX. III/2025
Sales in the Market Services sector in the Basque Country rose by 2.9% in the third quarter of 2025
Compared to the previous quarter, sales increased by 1.4%
Sales in the Other Market Services sector in the Basque Country rose by 2.9% in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, at constant prices and once calendar effects had been eliminated, according to Eustat data. This sector includes the services offered by the branches of Transport, Hospitality, Information & Communications and Corporate Services Activities.
Compared to the previous quarter, sales were up 1.4% in the third quarter of 2025, at constant prices and once corrected for seasonal effects.
Within Other Market Services, the year-on-year evolution of sales increased by 6.4% in Transport and storage; 3.2% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities; and 1.0% in both Hospitality and Administrative Activities & Auxiliary Services. In contrast, sales in the Information & Communications sector were down 0.4%.
Compared to the second quarter of 2025, there was a quarter-on-quarter rise in sales of 3.2% in Transport and Storage; 1.2% in Administrative Activities & Auxiliary Services; 0.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities; and 0.6% in Information & Communications. However, in Hospitality, sales were down 2.0% in quarter-on-quarter terms.

Sales performed positively during the third quarter of the year in year-on-year terms in all three provinces. Growth in relation to the third quarter of 2024 stood at 5.3% in Álava, 3.6% in Bizkaia and 0.9% in Gipuzkoa. Compared to the previous quarter, sales increased by 1.8% in Bizkaia and 1.0% in both Álava and Gipuzkoa.
The index of people employed in the Other Market Services sector in the Basque Country rose by 0.3% compared to the third quarter of 2024. In contrast, compared to the second quarter of 2025, employment fell by 0.2%.

Year-on-year variations are calculated using the series corrected for calendar effects, and the quarter-on-quarter variations are calculated using the deseasonalised series.
