CONSTRUCTION COSTS INDEX. AUGUST 2025
Construction Costs in the Basque Country fell by 0.1% in August 2025
In year-on-year terms August 2025 compared August 2024, costs increased by 2.5%
The Construction Costs Index in the Basque Country fell by 0.1% in August 2025 compared to the previous month, according to Eustat data. Costs increased by 2.5% compared to the same month of 2024.
Costs were down 0.1% in Building, whereas in Civil Works they remained constant. Compared to August 2024, prices increased by 2.4% in Building and 2.6% in Civil Works.
In relation the previous month, July 2025, costs of raw materials fell by 0.1%, while labour costs remained constant. In year-on-year terms, costs of raw materials increased by 3.2% and labour costs were up 0.4%.
Costs of raw materials were down 0.1% in month-on-month terms in the Building sector and remained constant in the Civil Works sector. However, in their year-on-year evolution, costs of raw materials increased by 3.2% in Building and 3.4% in Civil Works.

The prices of the main raw materials used by the Construction sector that recorded the greatest year-on-year increases in August 2025 were those in the following sub sectors: Manufacture of Electrical Material and equipment, up 7.6%; and Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, with a 3.7% increase. In contrast, the cost of raw materials used in the Coke Plants & Oil Refining sector fell by 5.5%.
