CONSTRUCTION COSTS INDEX. APRIL 2025
Construction costs in the Basque Country fell by 0.4% in April 2025
In year-on-year terms, April 2025 compared to April 2024, costs increased by 0.3%
The Construction Costs Index in the Basque Country fell by 0.4% in April 2025 in relation to the previous month, according to Eustat data. Costs increased by 0.3% compared to the same month of 2024.
Costs fell by 0.4% in Building and by 0.1% in the Civil Engineering. With respect to April 2024, prices increased by 0.2% in Building and 0.5% in Civil Engineering.
Compared to the previous month, March 2025, costs of raw materials fell by 0.5%, while labour costs remained constant. In year-on-year terms, costs of raw materials increased by 0.2%, while labour costs rose by 0.4%.
There was a month-on-month decrease in the cost of raw materials of 0.6% in the Building sector and 0.2% in the Civil Engineering sector. In their year-on-year evolution, costs of raw materials in the Building sector increased by 0.1% and those in Civil Engineering rose by 0.5%.

The prices of the main raw materials used by the Construction sector that recorded the greatest year-on-year increases in April 2025 were those in the following subsectors: Manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, up 4.8%, and Manufacture of other non-metallic minerals, with a 4.3% increase. In contrast, the cost of raw materials used in the Coke Plants & Oil Refining sector fell by 18.5%.
