CONSTRUCTION COSTS INDEX. MARCH 2025
Construction costs in the Basque Country fell by 0.3% in March 2025
In year-on-year terms, March 2025 compared to March 2024, costs rose by 0.9%
The Construction Costs Index in the Basque Country fell by 0.3% in March 2025 in relation to the previous month, according to Eustat data. Costs increased by 0.9% compared to the same month of 2024.
Costs in the Building sector were down 0.3% and those in the Civil Engineering sector fell by 0.4%. In relation to March 2024, prices increased by 0.9% in Building and 1.0% in Civil Engineering.
Compared to the previous month, February 2025, costs of raw materials fell by 0.4%, while labour costs remained constant. In year-on-year terms, costs of raw materials increased by 1.1%, while labour costs rose by 0.4%.
There was a month-on-month decrease in the cost of raw materials of 0.4% in the Building sector and 0.6% in the Civil Engineering sector. In their year-on-year evolution, costs of raw materials in the Building sector increased by 1.1% and those in Civil Engineering rose by 1.2%.

The prices of the main raw materials used by the Construction sector that recorded the greatest year-on-year increases in March 2025 were those in the following subsectors: Manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, up 4.9%, and Manufacture of other non-metallic minerals, with an increase of 3.7%. In contrast, the cost of raw materials used in the Coke Plants & Oil Refining sector fell by 13.6%.
