CONSTRUCTION COSTS INDEX. FEBRUARY 2025:
Construction Costs in the Basque Country rose by 0.4% in February 2025
In year-on-year terms, February 2025 compared to February 2024, prices increased by 1.6%
The Construction Costs Index in the Basque Country rose by 0.4% in February 2025 in relation to the previous month, according to Eustat data. Costs increased by 1.6% compared to the same month of 2024.
Costs in the Building sector were up 0.3% and those in the Civil Engineering sector rose by 0.5%. In relation to February 2024, prices increased by 1.6% in Building and 1.7% in Civil Engineering.
Compared to the previous month, January 2025, costs of raw materials were up 0.5%, while labour costs remained constant. In year-on-year terms, costs of raw materials increased by 2.1%, while labour costs rose by 0.4%.
There was a month-on-month increase in the cost of raw materials of 0.5% in the Building sector and 0.7% in the Civil Engineering sector. In their year-on-year evolution, costs of raw materials in both the Building and Civil Engineering sectors were up 2.1%.

The prices of the main raw materials used by the Construction sector that recorded the greatest increases in February 2025 on February 2024 were those in the following subsectors: Manufacture of Metal Products, except Machinery and Equipment (4.6%) and Manufacture of Electrical Material and Equipment (4.4%). Conversely, the cost of raw materials in Coke Plants and Oil Refining used in the sector was down 8.8%.
