CONSTRUCTION INDEX. II/2023
Activity in the Construction sector in the Basque Country increased by 11.0% in the second quarter of 2023
The Civil Works sector rose by 19.2%, while the Building sector was up 9.8%
In current prices, activity in the Construction sector in the Basque Country in the second quarter of 2023 was 11.0% higher than that observed in the same quarter of the previous year, according to Eustat data.
Once corrected for calendar effects, the year-on-year increase at current prices in this quarter is explained by the positive performance of both Civil Works, which experienced a rise of 19.2% compared to the second quarter of 2022, and Building, where growth was 9.8%.
Comparing activity of the sector in this second quarter of 2023 with that of the previous quarter, once corrected for seasonal effects, the construction index rose by 5.5% in nominal terms or current prices. Activity in Building increased by 5.8% compared to the previous quarter and that of Civil Works rose by 3.9%.

Eustat. Construction index
In the second quarter of 2023, following a 0.5% rise in relation to the previous quarter, the index of employed people stood 0.1% above that observed in the second quarter of 2022.
