CONSTRUCTION COSTS INDEX. NOVEMBER 2020
Construction costs in the Basque Country rose by 0.1% in November 2020 compared to the previous month
In relation to November 2019 costs have increased by 0.1%
The Construction Costs Index in the Basque Country rose by 0.1% in November 2020 compared to the previous month, October 2020, according to EUSTAT data. In year-on-year terms, November 2020 compared to November 2019, costs have also increased by 0.1%.
Compared to the previous month, costs of raw materials increased by 0.1% whereas labour costs remained unchanged (0.0%).
In November 2020, the Building sub-sector posted a month-on-month increase of 0.1% in the cost of raw materials and the Civil Works sub-sector a rise of 0.2%. In their year-on-year evolution, costs of raw materials in Building increased by 0.1%, whereas in Civil Works they fell by 2.5%.
The prices of raw materials consumed by sector that recorded the biggest increases in November 2020 on November 2019 included those in the following sectors: Electronic Material, up 3.8%; Electrical Material, with an increase of 1.5%; and Metal Products, which rose by 1.0%. In contrast, standing out among those sectors with reductions in prices were: Oil Refining, down 24.2%, Machinery, with a decrease of 3.2%, and Non-metal Industry, which dropped 2.7%.
