Construction costs in the Basque Country fell by 0.7% in October 2020 compared to the previous month
In relation to October 2019 costs have reduced by 0.2%
There was a 0.7% decrease in Construction Costs in the Basque Country in October 2020 compared to the previous month, September 2020, according to EUSTAT data. In year-on-year terms, October 2020 compared to October 2019, costs have reduced by 0.2%.
Compared to the previous month, costs of raw materials decreased by 0.9% whereas labour costs remained unchanged (0.0%).
In October 2020, the Building sub-sector posted a month-on-month decrease of 0.7% in the cost of raw materials and the Civil Works sub-sector a drop of 1.4%. In their year-on-year evolution, costs of raw materials in Building decreased by 0.1%, whereas in Civil Works they fell by 3.7%.
The prices of raw materials consumed by sector that recorded the biggest increases in October 2020 on October 2019, included those in the following sectors: Electronic Material, with an increase of 2.0%; Metal Products, up 1.7%; and Electrical Material with a rise of 1.5%. In contrast, standing out among those sectors with reductions in prices were: Oil Refining, with a decrease of 25.0%; Electricity & Gas, down 20.8%; and Metallurgy, with a drop of 4.2%.
