CONSTRUCTION COSTS INDEX. NOVEMBER 2019
Construction costs in the Basque Country fell by 0.2% in November 2019 compared to the previous month
Compared to November of the previous year, costs increased by 1.5%
There was a 0.2% drop in Construction Costs in the Basque Country in November 2019 compared to the previous month, whilst the year-on-year rate for the same month rose by 1.5%, according to EUSTAT data.
With regards to the previous month, there was no variation in labour costs (0.0%) and the cost of raw materials was down 0.3%.
In November, the Building sub-sector recorded a decrease of 0.1% in the cost of raw materials and the Civil Works sub-sector a fall of 1.0%. The year-on-year trends in these two sub-sectors saw positive variations: costs of raw materials in Building were up by 1.4%, whilst costs in Civil Works posted a 0.9% rise.
The prices of raw materials consumed by sector that recorded the biggest increases in November 2019 on November 2018 included those in the following sectors: Timber Industry, up 5.1%, Non-metal Industry, with an increase of 3.1% and Electrical Material, with a rise of 2.5%. On the other hand, the sectors that saw the largest reductions in prices of raw materials over the last twelve months were Metallurgy which was down 2.2%, Electricity & Gas with a decrease of 1.7% and Oil Refining with a fall of 0.8%.
