32,901 visitors were registered in the agrotourism establishments of the A.C. of the Basque Country in June, July and August 2005, 10% more than in the same period of the previous year, rising 18% in Gipuzkoa, 4% in Alava and 3% in Bizkaia. The number of visitors from other parts of the State underwent 11% growth in the A.C. of the Basque Country and those coming from overseas did so by 4%.

There were 117,632 overnight stays in the agrotourism establishments of the A.C. of the Basque Country in the summer months of 2005, meaning a 5% increase in relation to the same period of last year, with positive inter-annual growth rates in the provinces of Gipuzkoa (9%) and Bizkaia (2%), but a negative inter-annual rate in Alava (-9%).

The average stay per visitor fell from 3.78 to 3.58 days for this summer period.

The degree of occupancy went down from 49.10% to 48.01%.

Rectification: In line with the established criteria of the main statistics offices, we would like to point out the discovery of errors in the data published in the press release for 22 September 2005 last, corresponding to agrotourism establishments. This release is to correct the accumulative data for visitors and overnight stays in June, July and August 2005.
