Methodological note. EIS: Public-private co-publications per million population

This indicator captures public-private research linkages and active collaboration activities between business sector researchers and public sector researchers resulting in academic publications.

The indicator is obtained as a quotient.

Numerator:

Number of public-private co-authored publications. The definition of “private” sector excludes the private medical and health sector. These co-publications have been allocated to the country/countries according to the geographical location of the business company or other private sector organisations.

Denominator:

Total population.
