Methodological note. EIS: Non R&D innovation expenditures as % of total turnover

This indicador measures non-R&D innovation expenditure as percentage of total turnover. Several of the components of innovation expenditure, such as investment in equipment and machinery and the acquisition of patents and licenses, measure the difusión of new production technology and ideas.

The indicator is obtained as a quotient.

Numerator:

Sum of total innovation expenditure for enterprises, in nacional currency and current prices excluding intramural and extramural R&D expenditures.

Denominator:

Total turnover for all enterprises in national currency and current prices.
