Methodological note. EIS: Broadband penetration

Realising Europe's full e-potential depends on creating the conditions for electronic commerce and the Internet to flourish. This indicator captures the relative use of this e-potential by the share of enterprises that have access to fast broadband.

The indicator is obtained as a quotient.

Numerator:

Number of enterprises with a maximum contracted download speed of the fastest fixed internet connection of at least 100 Mb/s.

Denominator:

Total number of enterprises.
