Methodological note. EIS: Foreign doctorate students as % of total doctorate students of the country

The share of foreign doctorate students reflects the mobility of students as an effective way of diffusing knowledge. Attracting high-skilled foreign doctorate students will add to creating a net brain gain and will secure a continuous supply of researchers.

The indicator is obtained as a quotient.

Numerator:

Number of doctorate students from foreign countries.

Denominator:

Total number of doctorate students.
