Objectives
The generic objective of the Building and Housing Statistics (EDYVI) is to know how much, what and where it is built, rehabilitated and demolished in the Basque Country. It is a basic source of information in the system of monitoring indicators of housing policy.
This operation specifically develops the following sections:
1. From the major work licenses granted by the municipalities, it is intended to know the main characteristics of the work (new plant, rehabilitation or demolition), use of the building and affected homes.
2. Quantify the stock of housing for rent and municipal property, regime and occupation of said park.
3. Quantify the acquisition of land by municipalities for the promotion of public housing.

- Major construction licenses: The population universe object of this statistic are the licenses of major works of construction of new plant, of rehabilitation and those of demolition.
- Municipal rental housing stock: The population universe is rental housing owned by the municipality or one of its public companies.
- Obtaining land for Public Protection Housing: The population universe is the operations of obtaining municipal land for Protected Housing.

Sample design
The statistics of building and housing are census and the information is sent by the 251 municipalities of the Basque Country on a monthly basis. The monthly information sent is related to the major work licenses granted in the municipality and purchase of land by the city council for the promotion of protected housing; while on an annual basis information will be collected regarding the stock of rental homes available by the city council.
