Objective
The Growth Rate is a measurement of the relative evolution of the number of inhabitants of a geographical area between two time periods. The gap is almost always less than a year and you can read as the proportion of the difference of the number of inhabitants to 1 January of one year less than the previous year, with respect to the latter.

Numerator:
Population as of 1 january of year n minus population as of 1 january year n-1
Denominator:
Population as of 1 january of year n-1 multiplied by one hundred.
