Statistics on the landing and first sale of fish provide annual information on fishery products landed and auctioned in Basque ports in terms of quality and quantity for each species caught. This allows us to see how they evolve and to carry out behaviour analysis of different seasons (mackerel, anchovy, albacore tuna, etc.), facilitating better planning and future management.
This exercise is also crucial to provide auxiliary information to compile the Quarterly Accounts for the Fishing Sector and see the evolution of the Added Value of fishing activity in the Basque Country.
