Population and housing census. Activity. The purpose of this activity is to obtain annual data on the activity of the population residing in the Basque Country, detailed at the municipal level. Specifically, it provides information on the employed, unemployed and inactive population, the characteristics of the labour market such as the economic sector of activity, profession, mobility with respect to the workplace and its distribution with respect to socio-demographic variables such as sex, age, nationality, country of birth and level of education attained. The performance of this statistical operation is based on the treatment and use of mostly administrative sources, without direct collection of information.
