The main objective of the official statistical operation Barometer of retail trade is to analyse, describe and monitor the commercial sector of the Basque Country. To this end, a series of structural indicators have been defined to develop and implement lines of work or action in the development of public policies aimed at improving the competitiveness of the commercial sector. The indicators of the Barometer of Basque retail trade focus, among others, on the characterization of employment in the commercial sector, opening hours, ownership regime of establishments, the incorporation of e-commerce, incidence of tourism, use of Basque, sustainability actions, identification of commercial values and management styles. The parameters are calculated for the Basque Country and by province.
