Sundry Services Survey 2009
Real Estate, Publishing and Transport Auxiliary Companies generated a value added per person over the average for Services in 2009.
Computer-Related Activities employed nearly 14,000 people
Within the branches included in the Sundry Services Survey of the Basque Country 2009, the Transport Auxiliary Companies, Real Estate and Publishing sectors generated value added per person over the average for the service sector overall.
In terms of employment, special mention should be made of the Computer Sector, which employed 13,742 people.
Taking into account both the net amount of the business figure and the value added, the Transport Auxiliary branch of activities, which included ports, airports and goods-related activities, stood out and it generated a value added over a thousand million euros and employed 11,500 people, with a value added per person of ninety thousand euros.
Real Estate generated a value added of 695 million euros and employed 7,286 people. In this sector, the value added generated per person was over ninety-five thousand euros.
The Computer sector was particularly important in terms of generating jobs as it employed 13,742 people. The value added contribution is relatively minor and stood at 669 million euros, with a value added per person of 49,000 euros.
The branch of Other Personal Services, whose main sub-sector is Hairdressers and Beauty Salon's, is the one that generated the lowest ratios both in sales and in value added per person. The sales per employed person came to 31,306 euros and the value added at practically 20 thousand euros. However, it generated a relatively important employment level of 12,647 people.
Cultural Actives employed 6319 people and Sports and Leisure Activities generated 7072 jobs.
Methodology note: The population studied consists of the establishments whose sole or main activity, according to CNAE-09 (Spanish Classification of Business Activities), is included in one of the following groups: 52, 53, 58, 59, 60, 62, 63, 66, 68, 90, 91, 92, 93, 95 y 96.
