ADVANCE QUARTERLY ECONOMIC ACCOUNTS (ACET). I/2025
The GDP of the Basque Country rose by 2.0% and employment increased by 1.5% during the first quarter of 2025
In relation to the last quarter of 2024, GDP growth stood at 0.6% and that of employment at 0.4%
During the first quarter of 2025 the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Basque Country increased by 2.0% compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to estimates for the Advance quarterly accounts made by Eustat. In relation to the fourth quarter of the previous year, there was a 0.6% increase in GDP in the Basque Country.
The relevant economic information available at the time this Advance was prepared reveals that the growth seen in the first quarter of the year is the result of a year-on-year improvement in industry, and particularly in construction.

Employment, measured as full-time equivalent jobs, increased by 1.5% in year-on-year terms, which meant the creation of more than 14,000 jobs. In relation to the previous quarter, estimated growth was 0.4%.
On 6 June, Eustat will publish the disaggregated estimates of GDP and Employment in its quarterly accounts for the first quarter of 2025, after incorporating the relevant economic information that was not available when these Advance quarterly accounts were prepared.
