ADVANCE QUARTERLY ACCOUNTS (ACET). III/2022
The GDP of the Basque Country rose by 0.2% and employment increased by 0.3% in quarter-on-quarter terms in the third quarter of 2022
Compared to the third quarter of 2021, growth reached 3.9% in the case of GDP and 2.0% in that of employment
In the third quarter of 2022 the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Basque Country increased by 0.2% in relation to the preceding quarter, according to estimates for the Advance Quarterly Accounts made by Eustat. Compared to the third quarter of 2021, GDP in the Basque Country rose by 3.9%.
The relevant economic information available at the time this Advance was prepared points to a year-on-year deceleration in activity in the main sectors of the economy of the Basque Country.
Employment, measured as full-time equivalent jobs, rose by 0.3% compared to the previous quarter. This is the ninth consecutive quarter with quarter-on-quarter growth in employment. In relation to the same quarter of the previous year, the recovery in terms of the number of jobs was estimated at 2.0%.
On 2 December EUSTAT will publish the disaggregated estimates of GDP and employment in its Quarterly Accounts for the third quarter of 2022, after incorporating the relevant information that was not available when these Advance Quarterly Accounts were prepared.
