The export balance for the first eleven months of 2017 stood at almost 22,000 million euros, which is already higher than the 2016 total
Total exports of goods from the Basque Country grew by 9.7% in November, and non-energy exports were up by 12.0%
In November 2017 there was a rise in exports of goods from the Basque Country of 9.7% in year-on-year terms, according to EUSTAT data. They totalled 2,123 million euros compared to 1,935 million in the same month of the previous year. Exports of energy goods registered a year-on-year decrease of 10.3% and exports of non-energy goods saw an increase of 12.0%. Exports in Gipuzkoa grew by 16.3%, in Bizkaia by 10.1% and in Álava by 3.6%.
In the accumulated rate for the first eleven months of 2017, exports from the Basque Country stood at 21,994 million euros, 10.8% up on the same period in 2016. In Bizkaia they were up by 19.4%, in Álava 6.5% and in Gipuzkoa 5.1%.
Imports of goods from the Basque Country, for their part, experienced a rise of 8.1%, reaching the figure of 1,623 million euros. Energy imports increased by 9.8%, and non-energy imports by 7.6%. Imports in Gipuzkoa were up by 10.9%, in Bizkaia by 8.5% and in Álava by 5.2%.
For the first eleven months of 2017 as a whole, imports grew by 21.5% compared to the same period of 2016, standing at 17,140 million euros. Imports in Bizkaia grew by 31.2%, in Gipuzkoa by 12.0% and in Álava by 8.6%.
The most sold product this month (8.9% of the total exported) was “Vehicles conceived principally for the transport of people (<10) with a diesel engine (from 1,500 cm3 to 2,500 cm3)”, with this product also occupying first place in the accumulated total for the year.
