Construction costs in the Basque Country rose 0.4% in July 2013 compared to the previous month
Compared to the previous year, construction costs were also down by 0.3% on July 2012
There was a 0.4% rise in Construction Costs in the Basque Country in July 2013 compared to the previous month, whilst the year-on-year rate for the same month rose by 0.3%, according to data provided by EUSTAT.
With regards to the previous month, in July 2013 labour costs witnessed no variation (0.0%), whilst there was a 0.5% rise in the cost of raw materials.
The subsectors of Building and Civil Works showed a similar evolution in the cost of their raw materials in July with regards to the previous month: raw materials used in Building were up by 0.5% whilst those in Civil Works rose by 0.6%. The year-on-year evolution of these two sub-sectors illustrates that costs of raw materials in Building rose by 0.2%, whilst costs in Civil Works were down by 0.6%.
Non-Metal Industry (3.9%), Machinery (2.0%), and Chemical Industry (0.7%) stood out amongst the sectors that experienced the highest inflation rates over the last twelve months as regards prices of raw materials. In contrast, the greatest falls in annual prices (July 2013 on July 2012) were witnessed in the prime materials of the sectors of Metallurgy (-5.9%), Electricity & Gas (-1.7%), and Electronic Material (-1.4%).
