For the purpose of this statistic we consider the whole of the overnight stay plus a meal (lunch or dinner).

This includes stays by patients who were admitted before the 1st of January of the reference year of the statistic.

The days which patients have stayed in intensive care units (coronary, neonatal special care ...) are only registered under this heading when the bed or incubator for normal care has been reserved.

Dialysis sessions are not considered stays.
