Hospital discharge is at the close (by cure, death or transfer) of an episode treated in the hospitalisation area or in a surgical day hospital.
Under this heading the sum of the different types of discharge is consigned, as described in detail below:
Cure or improvement. Discharge produced by cure or improvement, including the transfer of patients to minimum care or long stay centres.
Transfer. Discharge produced by the transfer to other services or centres for diagnosis or treatment.
Death. Discharge produced by death.
Voluntary. Discharge produced with the patient's own consent or consent of authorised persons.
