Divorce

Divorce

This is a legal decision that dissolves the marital bond, and it involves the spouses forfeiting all inheritance rights, the loss of widow's pensions and all obligations derived directly from the marriage. It does not affect the obligations of the spouses towards their children given these obligations are contingent on parenthood and not the existence of the marital union. This may be sought by both spouses or one of them, and at least three months must have elapsed after the marriage for it to be possible.
