Made up of the population who were not working on the reference date due to any of the following situations:
Those who had worked previously but were out of work (because of dismissal, resignation, etc.), were looking for remunerated employment and were available to fill the post.
Those whose work contract had been suspended temporarily or indefinitely, were available for work and were looking for remunerated employment.
Those who, not having worked on the aforementioned date, were not looking for work due to temporary illness or because they had been accepted for a job which was to begin at a later date.
Those who had not worked previously, who were looking for their first job and were available to fill the post.
Also considered as unemployed were pensioners, retired people or those who had previously worked without remuneration in a family enterprise, provided that they complied with the condition of looking for remunerated work and being available to fill the post.
