Income (Education)

Total Income is divided into two large blocks: Current Income and Capital Income

a) Current Income
Current income is considered to be the amount of operating subsidies, education quotas, quotas corresponding to complementary services and other income. The table offers the following scheme of current income:

  • Subsidies:
Refers to amounts granted to the centre in the reference period, independent of whether the money has been cashed or not and therefore excludes cashing subsidies from previous fiscal years.
Two types of subsidy are distinguished:

    • Operating subsides: are destined to funding the expenditure of personnel and/or the operation of the centre.

    • Capital subsides: are destined to financing investments.

They are classified according to their origin:

    • Department of Education, Universities and Research of the Basque Government.

    • Other Public Subsidies: other departments of the Basque Government, Local Administration and others.

    • Private: coming from private individuals, companies and abroad.

  • Fees:
Are the regular payments made by students in consideration of education and services received in the centre. It also includes: monthly, quarterly, annual, etc payments, for educational material that the centre gives to the pupils, non returnable enrolment rights by the centre and other concepts that are regularly included in invoices.

    They are classified:

    • Education: fees for regulated and complementary education imparted in a general way to the pupils.

    • Complementary activities: payments by pupils for not strictly educational training activities.

    • Complementary services: payments by pupils for transport, dinner room, residence and other services.

    • Other income: financial income and other income.

b) Capital Income
