Production of environmental goods and services at basic prices

The Environmental Goods and Services Account (EGSA) for the Basque Country includes total aggregated production at basic prices. Total aggregated production comprises market production, production for own final use and non-market production, but not auxiliary production, i.e. that intended for use within the enterprise itself to carry out its principal or secondary activities (ESA, 2010). Furthermore, production valued at basic prices does not include taxes on products (such as Value Added Tax, special taxes and the like), but it does include product subsidies.

If a producer produces both environmental and non-environmental products, only environmental products will be included in the EGSA. If there is no detailed information that would allow a distinction to be drawn between environmental and non-environmental activities, the distinction will be made proportionately based on a set of coefficients estimated using various procedures, depending on the environmental activity.
