It includes all activities that conform to the (ISCED 2011 (International Standard Classification of Education) of UNESCO) regardless of the ownership of the establishment that supplies them or the source of the funds that finance them.
As far as ISCED is concerned, an educational programme is defined as a coherent set or sequence of educational activities designed and organized to achieve a specific learning objective or to perform certain educational tasks over a permanent period of time.
ISCED 2011 Fundamental concepts of the notion of education:
•EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES: any voluntary activity involving some form of communication aimed at generating learning.
•COMMUNICATION. It is the relationship between two or more people and involves the transmission of information (messages, ideas, knowledge, strategies, etc.). Communication may be verbal or non-verbal, direct/face-to-face, indirect/remote and may involve multiple channels and means of communication.
•LEARNING. It is the acquisition or modification of information, knowledge, attitudes, values or abilities by a person through experience, practice, examination or instruction.
•ORGANIZED. Educational activity must be provided for in an explicit or implicit sequence of plans or objectives. This means that there is a supplier (one or more people, or an organism) which establishes the framework of learning and the method of teaching communication. The method traditionally consists of the presence of a person who communicates or expands knowledge and skills to create learning, but it can also be indirect, such as a computer program or other information technologies.
•SUSTAINABLE. Learning experience is characterized by duration and continuity.
