Destination of the holding's output

Research is conducted on whether the holder’s household consumes more than 50% of the value of the holding’s final output.

Household is understood as the family unit to which the holder belongs and in which family members share the same accommodation, pool all, or some, of their income and collectively consume certain types of goods and services, mainly housing and food.

Gifts to family members shall be considered household consumption.

The definition of final output coincides with the definition of “usable output” employed in the agricultural accounts, i.e. it does not include products used as supplies, nor does it include recurrent losses of goods in stock (field losses, harvesting losses and subsequent losses on the holdings due to the perishable nature of the products, weather-related incidents, such as frost, droughts, etc.). For example, fodder used for livestock production should not be taken into account in the final output.

Obviously, 50% should not be considered as the result of an exact calculation, but simply as an order of magnitude.
