NOE (Non-Observed Economy)

The non-observed economy refers to all productive activities that are not captured by the different data sources used for the preparation of the National Accounts accounts. The following activities include: underground, informal (including those carried out by households for their own end use), illegal and other activities omitted due to deficiencies in the basic data collection programme. The term "non-observed economy" covers all these activities and the problems related to statistical estimation.
