The employed are all those persons aged 16 or over who, according to OIT criteria, had an employment relationship as an employee or carried out a self-employed activity during the reference week.

In relation to this job or activity, they may have been found in the referenced week:

- working at least one hour during the mentioned period in exchange for a remuneration, salary, business benefit, or family gain, etc., or

- absent from it but with a strong connection to said job.
