Fundamental Types of Violence Against Women
- Violence exercised by the man against the woman in the context of a relationship with a partner or ex-partner (gender violence).
- That exercised by men against women in the intra-family sphere: fathers, children, siblings,... (domestic violence).
- And violence of a sexual nature (crimes against sexual freedom and indemnity), exercised by men against women outside the above areas (studies, work, neighbourhood relationships, casualties, without any previous relationship, etc.).
Violence perpetrated by a partner or ex-partner and intra-family violence is made up of a wide range of criminal offences, classified as such by the current Penal Code: Crimes of homicide and its forms, injuries (injuries, ill-treatment in the family...), against freedom (kidnapping, threats, coercion, harassment,...), torture and against integrity (habitual ill-treatment, minor insults and harassment in the family), breaches of security and precautionary measures, crimes related to family relations, against sexual freedom and indemnity,...
