Kitchen gardens for owr consumption
Areas of land normally occupied by vegetables, root crops and permanent crops, among others, intended for self-consumption by the holder and their household, normally separated from the rest of the agricultural land, and recognisable as a kitchen garden.
Although these are normally small areas of the holding (less than 0.5 ha), the main aspect to be taken into account is their use for “self-consumption”, such that any possible surplus is occasionally sold.
Includes areas cultivated by collective households (e.g. research institutions, religious communities, boarding schools or prisons), which are used for self-consumption.
