EDI

EDI

(Electronic data interchange) refers to the structured transmission of data or documents between organisations or businesses by electronic means. The EDI, or electronic data interchange, allows standard documents to be exchanged between the computer systems of the parties to a business relationship. The fact that the documents are standardised is essentially what distinguishes EDI from other information exchange systems. Orders, delivery notes, invoices, inventories price catalogues, etc. can be exchanged electronically between different parties thanks to a common language that allows different information systems to interact with each other, automatically integrating into internal management or ERP systems.
