Destination Table

Destination Table

The Destination Table shows the use made of existing resources in the economy, disaggregated by product and type of use or purpose. This table includes three matrices: the Intermediate Consumption Matrix, which displays the proportion of goods and services whose final purpose is to be used in the production process of domestic activity branches as intermediate consumption; the Final Demand Matrix, which displays the proportion of goods and services whose final purpose is to be consumed by Households and Non-profit Institutions Servicing Households (ISFLSH), by the Public Administrations, by the production branches as investment assets, or to be sold abroad; and, finally, the Value Added Matrix, which shows the distribution of the income generated in the production process for each activity branch.

The Intermediate Consumption Matrix has a structure of 105 rows (goods and services) and 89 columns (branches). It shows the demand for intermediate consumption of each activity branch, disaggregated by product.

The Final Demand Matrix has a structure of 105 rows (goods and services) and 7 columns that show: the Final Consumption Expenditure of Households and ISFLSH, the Final Consumption Expenditure of Public Administrations, the Gross Fixed Capital Formation, the Changes in Stocks and Exports, disaggregated by product. The latter have 3 possible destinations: Rest of Spain, European Union and Rest of the World.

The Value Added Matrix has a structure of 5 rows and 89 columns. The rows show the components of the distribution of value added according to the income generated in the production process, i.e. the proportion that goes to the Payment of Employees (distinguishing between gross salaries and social security contributions), the Other Net Taxes on Production, the Net Operating Surplus/Net Mixed Income, which reverts back to producers, and the Fixed Capital Consumption. This disaggregated information is given for the 89 activity branches (columns).
