- Zone:
Groupings of singular population entities with the aim of achieving a population distribution according to homogenous groups in terms of a series of characteristics concerning their way of life.
- Rural area: a group of singular population entities with 10,000 or fewer inhabitants, or those with more than 10,000 but where the population is dispersed.
- Urban area: a group of singular population entities with more than 10,000 actual inhabitants.

- Residential Habitat:
Refers to the type of groupings of dwellings or buildings located in a municipality or population entity.
- Cluster: a cluster is considered to be a group of at least ten buildings that form streets, squares or other urban thoroughfares, provided that the official population exceeds 50 inhabitants.
- Dispersed: the buildings or dwellings that cannot be included in the description of a cluster are considered as dispersed.
