Audiovisual production companies are defined as public or private businesses based in the Basque Country, under whose initiative, coordination and responsibility different processes are carried out, ranging from the development to the marketing of an audiovisual work of any type and any format, regardless of whether any of the processes have been outsourced. Only production companies that have produced at least one work in the last three years (2009-2011) have been included in the census.
