Visual arts producers are defined as publicly or privately owned establishments whose main activity is providing the venues or additional services necessary for artists to work on their creations for a fixed period of time. Only those who are mostly dedicated to supporting the visual arts are included in the census, although they may additionally provide space for other arts (performing arts, music, etc.).
